Time table of the train

As I mentioned on the post of A short trip from Ueno to Akihabara ,

you can see the time table of the train. Also, sometimes you can get small one for your handy.

This is the time table of Kasumigaseki staion of Chiyoda Line by Tokyo metro.
The blue side is for the weekdays,

and the red side is weekends and holidays.

Not so many stations settle like this, if you ask at the exit, you may get the one.

So, ask!

There are the cart numbers on it.
The 3rd line stands for Akihabara(Akiba) station. If you got on the cart no.9, 8, 6,4 you will be close to the particular exits. If you have already known which exit you will use, you better to get on these cart. It also says about the connection, too.

You can either use Yamanote-Line(the green line) or Kehin-Tohoku line(Blue line)

Monorail is a kind of the train which is hanging on /from the line.

Unlike other trains, there are no doors between carts. You can see the people in the next cart.

Monorail shakes a lot while its runnning, so it's a good idea to sit down.

The biggest Monorail station is , Hamamatsu-cho in Tokyo. Many people use the monorail to go

to the Haneda Airport

Setagaya Line

This is Setagaya Line by Tokyu.

The Setagaya line passing through Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, Japan.

When I was an elementary student, I used this train a lot.

There are only 2 carts, very small train. This train used to be green color.

The old green one is displayed at Shibuya station.

The biggest feature of this train is fixed fee.

Nowadays it is 140 yen. You can go anywhere with 140 yen.

Setagaya Line runs between Sangen-jaya station and Shimo-takaido staion.

This photo above is Sangenjaya station. Sangen-jaya is near by Shibuya.

By subway, only 2 stations from Shibuya Station.

Setagaya Line accepts Suica and also has original pass.

Drop coins at the clear box. If you need change, drop coins from silver hole.
If you have a suica, put suica on the blue corner.

This one is the machine for original pass "Seta Maru".

Yamanote Line

As I wrote on the another article, there is the most famous train in Tokyo. It is Yamanote line. Today, I got on Yamanote line.

The light green line on the silver body is the Yamanote line.

Inside, you will see the monitor,
it will show you the name of next stop, and time for the destinations.

The monitor turns into English in every few seconds.

In Japan, usually train comes on time.

Also , small delay occurs very often specially morning hours.

They are usually not machine troubles, many of the cases are climate issue,

people got into the train section, big stone/trees distracted train's way and so on.

Each train cart has priority seat for olders, pregnant ladies and disables. Around these priority seats, you should turn off the cell phone. In other area, make the cell phone to silent mode, just use it for e-mail or browsing internets.
No talks are reccomended.

Japanese Trains are very clean, you can see no drawings from anybody.
Can you see the clover mark on the left of the door?

This section is called "Green Car". It's a premium seat, like a business class. If you can pay extra, you can sit down the nicer sheet. This is good for the people who lives far.
So, wait at this mark.
It's better that you purchase the "Green Car" ticket at the station somewhere.
Because the price would be different when you buy it in the train.

I found this Green Car ticket machine for Suica card user. You can also buy green car ticket at Midori-no madoguchi「みどりの窓口」

After you bought a Green Car ticket, wait at this mark. This says , car no.5 is the Green car. Usually train has 10 to 15 cars. One or two of them is Green Car.
This is , inside of the JR Joban- Line. (not a Green car section). Some part of the seat is
for older, pregnant lady, and injured, disable people's seat.

In the Tran, Sell-phone users are not appreciated. So if you got on the train in Japan, No talk on your cell phone. Just make it silent.
