I introduce regular scenes in Japan. In stead of introducing traditional Japanese items, I only want to show you many things that you can see them right now in Japan.
(Japanese, English, Chinese and Korean is available with the pull down bar on the top right)
Saitama Prefecture (state) is next to Tokyo.
Inside of the Chichibu Tetsudo is pretty old style. Sheets are light green.
I found the one person who is in a in a pilgrim's garb. White cloth, and bamboo woven hat.
The big stations are Hanyu, Gyodashi, Kumagaya, Takekawa,Yorii, Nogami,Nagatoro,
Chichibu, Ohanabatake, Minano, Kagemori, Mitsumineguchi,
When you get off the train at Chichibu station, there are the circuit of holy temples.
The electrical money like Suika, Pasmo are not available.
There is ticket called "Chichibu ji Yu Yu Free kipp". (1,440 yen for adults in 8/13/2014)
If you are planning to get on and off many times in a day between Hanyu and
Mitsumine-guchi,
This ticket is usefull. In Japan, this kind of tickets are called "Free kipp"
I found a Subway map of Tokyo-metro. There are in English and Japanese.
The subway of Tokyo is very complicated, so if you found a map. get it right away.
I got on a Hibiya Line of Tokyo-metro. This is an inside of Hibiya line. There is the electric board on the door. It indicates the next station in Japanese and English. Iheard the English announcement also.
Akihabara city, Tokyo is one of the famous city for electronics and Japanese anime.
today, I got on Yamanote Line from Ueno to Akihabara (called as Akiba).
I recorded this on 4/19 Friday, 2013.
This is the photo at Ueno station. The first green line stands for current station.
There are the cart numbers on it.
The 3rd line stands for Akihabara(Akiba) station. If you got on the cart no.9, 8, 6,4 you will be close to the particular exits. If you have already known which exit you will use, you better to get on these cart. It also says about the connection, too.
from Ueno to Akihabara, there are only 2 stations.
Ueno-Okachimachi-Akihabara.
You can either use Yamanote-Line(the green line) or Kehin-Tohoku line(Blue line)
This is the departure time of the Kehin-tohoku-line at Akihabara station.
The blue one is for weekdays and the red one is for weekends and holidays.
NO Smoking on the train. It's written in Japanese, English and Korean.
There are bank for money exchange at Akihabara station.
This is the video from Ueno to Akihabara which I recorded yesterday. Enjoy!
As I wrote on the another article, there is the most famous train in Tokyo.
It is Yamanote line. Today, I got on Yamanote line.
The light green line on the silver body is the Yamanote line.
Inside, you will see the monitor,
it will show you the name of next stop, and time for the destinations.
The monitor turns into English in every few seconds.
In Japan, usually train comes on time.
Also , small delay occurs very often specially morning hours.
They are usually not machine troubles, many of the cases are climate issue,
people got into the train section, big stone/trees distracted train's way and so on.
Each train cart has priority seat for olders, pregnant ladies and disables. Around these priority seats, you should turn off the cell phone. In other area, make the cell phone to silent mode, just use it for e-mail or browsing internets. No talks are reccomended.
Japanese Trains are very clean, you can see no drawings from anybody.
Can you see the clover mark on the left of the door?
This section is called "Green Car". It's a premium seat, like a business class. If you can pay extra, you can sit down the nicer sheet. This is good for the people who lives far.
So, wait at this mark.
It's better that you purchase the "Green Car" ticket at the station somewhere.
Because the price would be different when you buy it in the train.
I found this Green Car ticket machine for Suica card user. You can also buy green car ticket at Midori-no madoguchi「みどりの窓口」
After you bought a Green Car ticket, wait at this mark. This says , car no.5 is the Green car. Usually train has 10 to 15 cars. One or two of them is Green Car.
This is , inside of the JR Joban- Line. (not a Green car section). Some part of the seat is
for older, pregnant lady, and injured, disable people's seat.
In the Tran, Sell-phone users are not appreciated. So if you got on the train in Japan, No talk on your cell phone. Just make it silent.
